3. Setting Current Time
The memory chip in the STING contains a real-time
clock, used to attach a timestamp to each
recording. You must set the current time after
receiving the unit, using the instructions below. The
time is saved to persistent memory, so there is no
need to set it again, unless you move to another
time zone.
To set the current time on the STING:
1. Turn on your PC and wait for Windows to start.
2. C onnect the USB cable (supplied) to the Sting
device.
3. Turn on the STING using the On/Off Button (see
page 8).
4. C onnect the other end of the USB cable to a
vacant USB port on your PC.
5. WaitforthedevicetoberecognizedbyWindows.
Usually, this is indicated by a bell sound and a
message box.
