SECTION 5 MACHINE TESTING / TROUBLESHOOTING / SERVICE
5.11.2 Fault Light
On the front panel of the PC65
0 is the fault light. This is a visual indication of problems with the unit. The fault light will ash an error
code for the user to translate. The fault codes are as follows:
In the event that the PCB control board has a voltage problem on the board, this turns on the under volt-
age/over voltage fault on the front panel. This shows on the front panel as an evenly ashing light mean-
ing the light is on and o for equal durations, ashing 5 times per second.
The thermal switch fault will generate an error on the fault light of the front panel. This light is described
as mostly on – meaning it is on for 9/10th of a second o for 1/10th.
The Flow switch will generate an error on the fault light of the front panel. This light is described as
mostly o – meaning it is o for 9/10th of a second on for 1/10th.
In the event of a major fault – referred to as a current fault, the fault is shown as a steadily illuminated
fault light on the front panel of the PC650.
5.11.3 Flow Switch (951202)
The Flow switch FS detects the presence of airow in the unit. When there is air owing to the torch in
the unit, the switch closes and allows the unit to operate. Should there be a loss of airow through the
unit, the switch opens and main arc ceases.
The ow switch is connected to the PCB control board on P1-11 and P1-12, and detects any gas ow over
2.5 SCFM. Any ow less than that and the switch will open.
