6.3 TROUBLESHOOTING ECM INSTALLATIONS
The following issues might occur on ECM installation. See the pin
diagrams in the Appendix for more information.

Device is not
powering on or
remains blank
No power

diagnostic

Faulty ECM
cable
Ensure the vehicle engine
is running
Ensure there is 12-
24V on the diagnostic
connector by referring to
the appropriate pin-out
diagram
Vehicle must be repaired
to restore power to the
connector if less than 8V
is measured
Try a dierent ECM cable,
if others are available
Contact EROAD if there
are no alternative cables
available
ECM cable
does not match
or fit within
the existing
mounting hole
or bracket on
the vehicle

Try a dierent ECM cable

Check the year in
which the truck was
manufactured
Contact EROAD for an
updated Ehubo that
supports SAE J1708/J1587
if the Ehubo serial number
begins with 0300
