Fan(s) Not Working/Overheating
The fans can be disabled at low temperatures to allow the unit to quickly attain operational
temperature. In the event of overheating problems, refer to the following table.

Check Fan Rotation.
Inspect the fans
located at the sides of
the enclosure. Are the
fans rotating? Check
Base Board
temperature and fan
(see nCompass
information).
Check that the unit
has been installed
with sufficient space
allowed for air flow
(see Installing the
Equipment >
Mounting in a Rack >
Care in Positioning). If
the ambient air is too
hot, additional cooling
may be required.
Possible break in the
dc supply from the
PSU module to the
suspect fan(s). Call
a Service Engineer.
NOTE:
Failure to ensure a free air flow around the unit may cause overheating. This
condition is detected by a temperature sensor on the Host Card which may be
used to trigger an automatic alarm.
