Category Lists
Category Lists
It is very likely that you have different groups of users, e.g.
operators, sales persons, technicians etc. Therefore it is very useful
to group functions in a category list, e.g. extensions, can be
assigned precisely those functions and facilities which they require
to perform their tasks.
If an extension initiates a function for which a category list has been
defined, the setting for that function will be consulted. If it is
permitted according to the category list, the requested function will
be activated. If the function is not permitted, congestion tone
(where appropriate) will be issued or the action will be ignored. The
extension or external line can use the functions set to YES in the
category list.
Category lists are created and configured for facility access, traffic
group, TCD and Abbreviated Numbers. When the category lists are
ready you can allocate the extensions and trunks with the correct
category list. On system start all extensions and external lines
belong to category list 0.
Note: Only directory numbers belonging to extensions,
operators or external lines can belong to a category list.
