Menu Settings and Explanations
Scan to Computer
(Email)
Attaches the scanned image to an email.
Scan to Computer
(WSD)
Stores scanned data on a network-connected computer running an English version of Windows 8.1,
Windows 8, Windows 7, or Windows Vista.
Menu Options for Scan
e following menus are only available for Scan to Memory Card and Scan to Cloud.
Menu Settings and Explanations
JPG/PDF Select the format in which to save the scanned image.
Color/B&W Select whether to scan in color or in monochrome.
Contrast Select the contrast of the scanned image.
2-Sided Scanning Select whether to scan a single side or both sides of the original (ADF-equipped printers only).
Scan Area Select the scan area.
Auto Cropping: Crops the white space around the text or image when scanning.
Max Area: Scans at the maximum scan area of the scanner glass.
Select this setting and scan again if the edges of the scanned image are cropped when A4 is selected.
Document Select the type of your original.
Resolution Select the scanning resolution.
Document
Orientation
Select the orientation of your original. This is only available when PDF is selected as the save format.
Binding Direction Select the binding position of the originals.
Clear All Settings Resets the selected settings to their defaults.
Fax Mode (Fax-capable printers only)
To display the following menus, press Fax on the home screen, and then scroll down using the
d
button.

Contacts Displays the contact list. You can also add or edit contacts.
Redial Select to redial the last fax number dialed.
Color/B&W Select whether to send a fax in color or monochrome.
Resolution Select the resolution of the outgoing fax.
Select Photo for originals that contain both text and photo images. The time needed for sending a
fax varies depending on the original and the resolution.
Contrast
Set the density of the outgoing fax. The Auto option automatically adjusts the contrast for your
original.
