Sending Faxes Using the Control Panel
1. Place the originals.
Note:
You can send up to 100 pages in one transmission; however, depending on the amount of memory remaining, you may
not be able to send faxes with less than 100 pages.
2. Select Fax on the control panel.
3. Specify the recipient.
❏ To enter manually: Press Enter Fax Number, enter the number on the number entry screen, and then press
Done.
❏ To select from the contact list: Press Contacts, and then select the recipient.
❏ To select the last dialed number: Press Redial.
Note:
❏ To add a pause (pause for three seconds) during dialing, enter a hyphen by pressing
.
❏ If you set an external access code in Line Type, enter "#" (hash) instead of the actual external access code at the
beginning of the fax number.
❏ If you press Redial and the last fax was sent to a group dial entry, the entry registered last in the group is displayed.
❏ As well as using group dial entries, you can use the Broadcast Fax feature to send a fax to multiple recipients at the
same time.
4. Scroll the screen by pressing
d
, select Color or B&W, and then make settings such as the resolution and the
sending method as necessary.
Note:
❏ To send 2-sided originals, enable 2-Sided Faxing. However, you cannot send in color with this setting.
❏ When sending a fax in monochrome, you can preview the scanned image on the LCD screen before sending by
enabling Send Preview.
❏ Only monochrome faxes can be sent to group dial entries.
5. Press the
x
button.
Note:
❏ To cancel sending, press the
y
button.
❏ It takes longer to send a fax in color because the printer performs scanning and sending simultaneously.
6. When sending a monochrome fax and Send Preview is enabled, check the preview on the LCD screen, and
then press the
x
button.
❏
: Moves the screen in the direction of the arrows.
❏
: Reduces or enlarges.
❏
: Moves to the previous or the next page.
❏
x
: Starts sending or scans again.
