Description The GS * x y d

… d(x x y x 8) command defines a single downloaded bit-image using the number
of dots specified by x and y in the RAM buffer area (volatile memory). The number of dots in the
horizontal direction is x x 8. The number of dots in the vertical direction is y x 8. If (x x y x 8)
exceeds the size of the buffer, the image is truncated. d indicates bit-image data and specifies a bit
printed to one and not printed to zero. After a downloaded bit-image is defined, it may be saved to
the nonvolatile flash storage buffer using the ESC ‗ command where it remains indefinitely.
Otherwise, the image remains in the RAM buffer where it is available until ESC @ or ESC & is
executed; the power is turned off; or the printer is reset. A representation of the format of a
downloaded bit-image is depicted below.
