The paper feed
pitch is not
uniform.
Operation of the
paper supply may be
incorrect.
A Check if the specified paper
roll is used.
Use the correct paper roll.
(See “Paper Specifications”
in Chapter 1.)
The paper path may
be incorrect.
A Check if the paper supply path
is blocked.
Remove paper particles
and foreign substances.
The connector is not
inserted correctly.
A Make sure the PF motor cable
pins are inserted in connector
CN6 of the main circuit board.
Reinsert the connector.
The paper feed roller
may be worn or
damaged.
B Check for wear and damage
on the surface of the roller.
Replace paper feed roller.
The paper hold roller
assembly may be
bad.
B Check if the paper hold roller
assembly rotates smoothly.
Clean and lubricate the
paper hold roller assembly
or replace it.
The paper hold roller
assembly may be
worn or damaged.
B Check for wear and damage
to the rollers of the paper hold
roller assembly.
Replace the paper hold
roller assembly.
Gears may be worn or
damaged.
B Check for wear and damage
to the paper feed reduction
gear and paper feed gear.
Replace any worn or
damaged parts.
The printer prints,
but the ribbon is
not fed.
The ribbon cassette
may be loose.
A Check if the ribbon cassette is
installed correctly.
Install the ribbon cassette
correctly. (See “Replacing
the Ribbon Cassette” in
Chapter 3.)
The ribbon cassette
may be bad.
A Check if the ribbon is fed by
rotating the ribbon-tightening
knob.
Replace the ribbon
cassette.
The ribbon drive plate
assembly may be
bad.
B Check if the ribbon drive plate
assembly moves smoothly.
Replace the ribbon drive
plate assembly.
The clutch portion of
ribbon take-up
assembly may be
worn.
B Check whether the ribbon
moves smoothly when you turn
the upper portion of the ribbon
take-up assembly.
Replace ribbon take-up
assembly.
Gears may be worn or
damaged.
B Check if the ribbon drive
assembly, ribbon intermediate
gear, ribbon transmission gear,
and ribbon take-up assembly
are worn or damaged.
Replace any worn or
damaged parts.
B Check if any foreign
substances are attached to the
gears.
Remove the foreign
substances.
