EP-ROM equipped main circuit board no longer used in ANK font model
The control program for the printer can be contained in two types of memory: EP-ROM or flash
memory. When EP-ROM is used, the EP-ROM chip is installed in a socket on the main circuit
board. When flash memory is used, the flash memory chip is soldered to the main circuit board.
Previously, the ANK font model used an EP-ROM on the main circuit board, whereas the
multilingual font model used flash memory on the main circuit board. For printers in current
production, the ANK font model also has been changed to flash memory.
However, spare parts for the ANK font model still are supplied with the EP-ROM type main
circuit board.
Number of switches in DIP switch set DSW2 changed in ANK font model
The printer has two sets of DIP switches: DSW1 and DSW2. The number of switches contained
in DSW2 has been changed from 4 to 8. (The multilingual font model has been using 8-switch
DIP switch for the DIP switch set DSW2 from start of mass production.)
The added switches control internal functions of the printer and are not available for user setting
purpose.
