Follow these steps to scan an image:
1. Select the Document Source
.
You can select Flatbed, or Auto Document Feeder (for the
optional Automatic Document Feeder), or TPU for Neg. Film
or TPU for Pos. Film (for the optional Film Adapter) if you
have installed these options. For complete descriptions of
Document Source settings, see “Document Source” on page
8-42.
2. Select the Image Type
.
You can select the type of image you will scan:
Color Photo, Color Photo De-screening, Black & White
Photo, Line Art, OCR, or Copy/Fax. For complete
descriptions of Image Type settings, see “Image Type” on
page 8-43.
3. Select the Destination
.
You can select an output device for image reproduction from:
Screen/Web, Fax, OCR, Printer (Fine), Printer (Photo), and
Laser Printer.
4. Click the Preview button.
To specify the scan region, click the Preview button to display
a preview of the original document.
5. Select the region to scan.
Use the mouse to drag the marquee and define the region to
be scanned.
6. Click the Auto Exposure button.
This will adjust scan settings for optimal results.
7. Click Scan
.
The scanned image is displayed on the screen.
The scanner scans your image according to the Image Type and
Destination settings you select. If you want more control over the
settings, try the other options. See online help for complete
descriptions of the settings.
