4. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to thoroughly remove dust and dirt from the platen as shown here. Wipe
from the inside to the outside of the platen and do not touch the areas shown in gray.
Note: For stubborn dirt, dampen a soft cloth with neutral detergent. Wring it out and clean the platen
as shown. Dry the platen with a soft, dry, lint-free cloth when you are finished.
