Follow these steps to repack the printer in its original packing
materials:

Warning:
If you have just used the printer, the print head may be hot; let it
cool for a few minutes before removing the ribbon cartridge.
1. Turn off the printer and remove any paper loaded in the
printer.
2. Unplug the power cord from the electrical outlet; then
disconnect the interface cable from the printer. If an optional
cut-sheet feeder is installed, remove it.
3. Remove the paper guide. Remove the ribbon cartridge as
described in steps 3 through 4 of “Replacing the ribbon
cartridge” on page 5-1. Then close the printer cover.
4. Repack the printer, ribbon cartridge, paper guide, and power
cord in the original packing materials and place them in the
printer’s original box.
