78 Solving Problems
Print Quality Problems
You see banding (light lines) in your printouts or copies.
■ Clean the print head; see page 72 for instructions.
■ The ink cartridges may need replacing; see page 69.
■ Select a higher print quality. If you’re printing from your computer, turn off
High Speed mode in your printer software.
■ Try printing with Epson paper. Make sure the paper is loaded in the rear sheet
feeder, with the printable side face-up.
Your printout is blurry or smeared.
■ Make sure your paper isn’t damp or curled.
■ Use Epson paper for proper saturation and absorption of Epson inks. Load it
with the printable side face-up in the rear sheet feeder.
■ Select the correct paper type setting for the paper you loaded (see page 32).
■ If you changed the Paper Thickness setting to On (for printing on envelopes),
be sure to switch it back to
Off when printing individuals sheets.
