The figure below shows the path the paper takes through the printer. The Paper enters the printer from the right and passes below the OPC Drum where it picks up the toner.

Do not remove the jammed paper by pulling the paper to the right (toward the paper supply tray) as this could break the Transfer Charger wire. The proper method of removing a paper jam is to first insure that the paper is not wrapped around the Transfer Charger wire. If it is, carefully pull the paper away from the wire area as shown below.
