How to Use This Chapter
This chapter explains how to do the following:
Remove the computer’s cover
Change jumper settings on the main system board
Install (and remove) memory modules (SIMMs)
Install an option card
Remove an option card
Remove the option card connector board (to access the
main system board)
Replace the option card connector board
Install a new processor chip (CPU)
Use the alternate VGA interface (feature connector)
Replace the cover.
Follow the steps in the first section to remove the cover, and
then go to the appropriate section for the steps you need. When
you finish, see the instructions at the end of the chapter to
replace the computer’s cover.
