Connection Modes You can use the following methods to connect a computer to a projector over a network by using EasyMP Network Projection. Setting Up EasyMP Network Projection for the First Time Follow these instructions before connecting a computer to the projector over a network. Installing the Software Setting Up the Projector Installing the Software Install EasyMP Network Projection from the EPSON Projector Software CD-ROM supplied with your projector. Note: • If the language selected for the installation differs from the language of the operating system being used, the screens may not be displayed correctly.

Requirement Windows Mac Display Resolution between 1024 × 768 (XGA) and 1920 × 1200 (WUXGA) 16-bit color or greater (approximately 32,000 display colors) Note: • Operation is not guaranteed for Windows XP without any service packs installed, or Windows XP Service Pack 1. • Operation is not guaranteed for Mac OS X 10.5.0 because the Firewall settings are not set correctly when the version is updated.

Select IP settings as necessary. • DHCP is available: Turn on the DHCP setting. • DHCP is not available: Turn off DHCP and enter the projector's IP Address, Subnet Mask, and Gateway Address values as necessary. 8. When you have finished making settings, select Setup Complete or Complete and follow the onscreen instructions to save your settings and exit the menus.
Connecting to the Projector and Projecting Images Follow these instructions to connect the computer and the projector over a network, and to project images from your computer's screen using the projector. Make sure you have already set up EasyMP Network Projection and selected a connection mode for the projector.
1. Press the LAN button on the remote control. The LAN standby screen is projected. 2. Start EasyMP Network Projection. • Windows XP, Windows Vista, and Windows 7: Click Start, select Programs (or All Programs), EPSON Projector, EasyMP Network Projection, and then click EasyMP Network Projection Ver.X.XX. • Windows 8: Navigate to the Start screen and select EasyMP Network Projection Ver.X.XX. • Mac OS X: Double-click EasyMP Network Projection from the Applications folder.
3. Select Quick Connection Mode, and then click OK. The projector search results are displayed. 4. If the projector you want to connect to is not displayed in the search results, search for it using one of the following methods. • Automatic Search: Searches for the projector automatically. • Manual Search: Searches for the projector based on the SSID selected from a list. • Profile: Searches for the projector based on a previously saved profile. 5.
Note: If you select Save the passphrase and don't show this dialog box again, the projector's SSID and passphrase are saved on the computer and this dialog box is not displayed the next time you connect. You do not have to enter the passphrase again. If the projector's passphrase has not been changed from the default, the following dialog box is displayed. Change the passphrase from the projector's Network menu. When a connection is established, the computer screen is projected.
Note: When a connection is established, the input source for the projector automatically switches to the LAN source if no other signal is being input. If the input source does not automatically switch to the LAN source, press the LAN button.
2. Select the projector you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

If the projector you want to connect to is not found automatically, you can search for the target projector by using the SSID, IP address, or a projector name. By using Advanced Connection Mode, you can search for projectors at remote locations on a different subnet. • Searching for Network Projectors Using a Profile You can save network projector information as a profile, and then specify the profile to search for the same projector instead of providing projector details each time you search.

Making a Profile Managing a Profile Parent topic: Changing the Projector Search Method Profile You can save information for a network projector as a profile. A profile is a file containing all of the projector's information, such as the projector name, IP address, and SSID. By using a profile, you can easily search for saved projectors instead of providing projector details.
2. Select the projector you want to connect to from the list. The search results are displayed. While the projector is displayed on the following screen, click Save in the profile.
2. Enter a Profile name, and then click Add. 3. Perform the following operations as necessary. • An overwrite confirmation screen is displayed: If you are prompted to confirm whether or not you want to overwrite, select Save as to save a profile with a different name. • A folder selection screen is displayed: If you have created a folder for profiles, one of the following screens is displayed. After entering the Profile name and selecting the Save in destination, click Add.

The projector information is saved in the profile. Parent topic: Searching for Network Projectors Using a Profile Managing a Profile You can change the name and the organization of your profiles. 1. Click Set options on the following screen. The Set options screen is displayed.
2. Click Edit profile. The Edit profile screen is displayed.
3. Edit the profiles as necessary. 1 Displays the profiles. You can drag and drop profiles and folders to change the folder structure. 2 Duplicates the profile. The copied profile is saved in the same folder as the original with the same name. 3 Deletes the profile and the folder. 4 Displays the Rename dialog box to rename the folder or the profile. You can enter up to 32 characters in the Rename dialog box. 5 Exports the profile. Exported profiles can be used as backup files.
8 Displays the projectors saved in the profile. To delete a specific projector from the profile, select the projector and then press the Delete button. When all projector information has been deleted, the profile is also deleted. 4. Click OK. Your edits are saved and the Edit profile screen closes. Using Additional Functions Follow these instructions to use additional EasyMP Network Projection functions that may be useful during a meeting or presentation.
1. Make sure the toolbar display is set to Full. 2. If you are connected to multiple projectors, click the projector you want to control. 3. Click the button on the toolbar and select the button on the toolbar. 4. Run the PowerPoint slide show on your computer. The PowerPoint slide show is projected. 5. Supported Movie Files The following movie file types are supported. Note: You cannot project files protected by digital rights management (DRM). 1. Make sure the toolbar display is set to Full. 2. Click the button on the toolber. The projector selection screen is displayed. 3. Select the projector, and then click OK. The Movie Sending Mode screen is displayed.
4. Click Select File. 5. Select the movie file you want to play, and then click Open.
The Movie Sending Mode screen is displayed again. The selected file is displayed in the Movie file list. If you click Select file again, the Movie file list currently displayed is cleared, and then only the files you select later are displayed in the list. 6. Control movie play back using the Movie Sending Mode screen. 1 Displays the current point in the movie file. You can drag and drop the slider to the point where you want to start playing. 2 Plays the file. 3 Pauses play back. 4 Stops play back.

Note: • For Windows, you can set virtual display drivers and project each image from the projector. Virtual display drivers are not available for Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.

If you connected an additional external monitor to your computer, you can skip the steps for enabling the virtual display driver.
Parent topic: Projecting Images Using the Multi-Screen Display Function Enabling the Virtual Display Driver (Windows) Before using the multi-screen display function, you need to enable the virtual display driver for Windows. Note: If you have already enabled the virtual display while installing EasyMP Network Projection, you do not need to enable it again. 1. Click Start, select Programs (or All Programs), EPSON Projector, EasyMP Network Projection, and then click Add-Remove Virtual Display.
Note: If the virtual display driver has been enabled so that the mouse pointer can be moved outside the limits of the screen, there may be occasions when you lose track of the location of the pointer. If you are not using a virtual display, clear the virtual display checkbox on the Add-Remove Virtual Display screen so that the mouse pointer moves back inside the screen's display area.
5. Select Use multi-display. Display layout and Display properties options are added at the bottom of the screen.
6. Click Display properties. The Display Properties screen is displayed.
7. Click the Settings tab.
8. Drag the displayed monitor icon and place it where you want the additional image to appear. In the following example, the actual monitor (1) is placed on the left, while the additional monitor (3) is placed on the right. Note: • When the PC has multiple display output terminals, the numbers assigned to the virtual terminals are sequential to those of the physical terminals. • When an external monitor is connected as a secondary monitor, the image for that screen cannot be projected.
9. Click OK to close the Display Properties screen. Parent topic: Setting Up Multi-Screen Display Arranging the Multi-Screen Display (Mac OS X) You can arrange the position of each display. 1. Connect an external monitor to the computer. 2. Check the following items when connecting over a wireless LAN and modify the settings as necessary. If the following items are not set correctly, the multi-screen display function cannot be used. • The SSID for the computer and each projector must be the same.
5. Select Use multi-display. Display layout and Display preferences options are added at the bottom of the screen.
6. Click Display preferences. The Display setting screen is displayed. 7. Click Arrangement.
8. Clear Mirror Displays. 9. Drag the displayed monitor icon and place it where you want the additional image to appear. 10. Close the Display setting screen.
Projecting Images to the Arranged Multi-Screen Display After setting up multi-screen display, you can assign the images you want to project to each screen. 1. Open the file you want to project. 2. Drag the window to the desired display, and assign where the image is to be projected. 3. Select the projector and the number you want to assign from Display to set which image you want to project from which projector.
4. Click Connect. The image assigned to each projector is projected. Note: If you use a virtual display on Windows, you cannot view the image being sent to a virtual display on the computer. To adjust the image on the virtual display, check the projected image.

To end projection for multi-screen display, click Disconnect on the toolbar. • Set DHCP to Off. Go to Network > Network Configuration > Wireless LAN > DHCP or Network > Network Configuration > Wireless LAN > IP Settings > DHCP. • Set Wireless LAN Power to On. Go to Network > Network Configuration > Wireless LAN > Wireless LAN Power. • When you enable the security setting, set the same passphrase to the computer and the projector. • Close network settings on the projector, and then return to the LAN standby screen. • Check the computer's network settings.
• Check for any obstacles between the access point and the computer or projector, and change their position to improve communication. Sometimes, indoor environments prevent the projector from being found in a search. • Set the radio strength for the network devices to the maximum. • Set the IP address, the subnet mask, and the gateway address for the access point correctly. • Check the projector's network settings. • Set the Connection Mode setting to Advanced.
• Check the access point settings. • Set connection permission at the access point to allow projectors to connect if any functions that block connections, such as MAC Address restrictions and port restrictions, are set to the access point. • Check the software settings. • Select the network adapter you are using from Switch LAN in Set options. If the computer has multiple LAN environments, a connection cannot be established unless the network adapter is selected correctly.
• To prevent malfunctions, use a category 5 or higher shielded LAN cable. • Check the projector's network settings. • Set DHCP to Off. When DHCP is set to On, it may take some time to enter LAN standby status if an available DHCP server is not found. Go to Network > Network Configuration > Wired LAN > DHCP or Network > Network Configuration > Wired LAN > IP Settings > DHCP. • Set the IP address, the subnet mask, and the gateway address for the access point correctly.

Solutions When the Screen is Not Projected Properly If the screen is not projected or there are problems with the project images try the following solutions. • When sending movies, use Advanced Connection Mode or set the Wireless LAN system to 802.11a to use Quick Connection Mode. Depending on the electromagnetic wave environment, the image and sound for movies may stop. • If you are using an Microsoft Office application, stop moving the mouse pointer.
Error Messages List When an error occurs, an error message is displayed on your computer screen. Check for your message and follow the instructions here to clear the error. Error Messages Remedy Network adapter information could not be obtained. Check the following items. • A network adapter is installed on the computer. • The driver for the network adapter being used is installed on the computer. • The network adapter is enabled. After checking, restart the computer and then restart EasyMP Network Projection. If you still cannot connect, check the network settings on the computer and the network settings on the projector. Cannot be used with the current OS version.
Error Messages Remedy Connection to the projector failed. Try connecting again. If you still cannot connect to the projector, check the network settings on the computer and the network settings for the projector. The keyword does not match. Re-enter the keyword displayed on the projector screen. Check the Projector Keyword displayed on the LAN standby screen, and enter the Projector Keyword. Connection failed due to keyword mismatch. Enter the keyword displayed on the projector screen.
Installing EasyMP Network Projection (Mac OS X) Error Messages when Projecting Error Messages Remedy XXXXXX was disconnected. Try connecting again. If you still cannot connect to the projector, check the network settings on the computer and the network settings for the projector. To output audio from the projector, restart applications such as PowerPoint or Windows Media Player. Restart PowerPoint or Windows Media Player. Audio is then output from the projector.
Event ID Cause Remedy 0433 Cannot play transferred images. Restart EasyMP Network Projection. 0484 Communication was disconnected from the computer. 04FE EasyMP Network Projection ended unexpectedly. Check the status of network communications. Restart the projector. 04FF A system error occurred in the projector. Restart the projector. 0891 Cannot find an access point with the same SSID. Set the computer, the access point, and the projector to the same SSID.
Event ID Cause Remedy 0B01 The built-in storage could not be detected correctly. Perform Delete All Internal Data. When the internal storage is deleted correctly, plugin the power cord for the projector and turn it on. If it is not deleted correctly, contact Epson as described in your projector User's Guide. Go to Extended > Whiteboard Settings > Internal Storage. 0BFF An error has occurred in the Whiteboard function. Parent topic: Solving Problems 80 Restart the projector.

7 Use multi-display Select when using the multi-screen display function. When this is selected, Display layout and Display properties (Display preferences) are displayed at the bottom of the screen. 8 Troubleshooting Displays the EasyMP Network Projection Troubleshooting screen. 9 Connect Connects to the projector you selected from the search results list. When a connection is made with a projector, a toolbar is displayed.

8 Projector name Displays the projector information saved in the profile. SSID or IP address Delete Deletes the selected projector from the profile. When all projector information is deleted, the profile is also deleted. Audio cannot be transferred when connected to multiple projectors. Restore Defaults You can reset all adjustment values for Set options to their default settings.
Toolbar After EasyMP Network Projection starts and a connection is made with the projector, the toolbar is displayed on the computer screen. You can use this toolbar to operate and make settings for the projector, and to disconnect the network connection. Displays the Select target projector screen. Select target projector Click to limit the projectors operated from the toolbar when projecting from multiple projectors using the distribution function or multi-screen display function.
Displays the multi-screen preview screen. Screen Preview Click to display a preview with the settings you have made. Click each display to enlarge each Screen Preview to full-screen.
