Parallel interface
Use only an IEEE 1284-II compliant parallel connector.
Using the ECP mode in Windows Me / Windows
98 and Windows 95
To use the ECP mode with a parallel (IEEE 1284-II compliant)
connector, your computer must support the ECP mode.
Note:
The ECP mode is not available with Windows 3.1, 3.11 for Workgroups,
Windows 2000, Windows NT 3.51 and NT 4.0.
Follow these steps to use the ECP mode:
1. MaketheECPmodesettingsintheBIOSsettingprogramthat
comes with your computer. (For details of the settings and the
program, see your computer’sdocumentation).
2. Click the Start button, point to Settings,andthenclick
Control Panel.
3. Right-click the System icon, then click Open in the menu that
appears.
4. Select the Device Manager tab.
5. Select the ECP Printer Port under Ports [COM & LPT], then
click the Properties button.
6. Select the Resources tab.
