6-3 Shadow RAM

For higher performance, the mainboard has two shadow RAM func-

tions. Shadow RAM is one of the advanced features of the mainboard.

Your BIOS or diskette will support the following:

• A 84KB DRAM space allocated for system BIOS shadow

RAM

• A 84KB DRAM space allocated for video BIOS shadow RAM

BIOS and video addresses are allocated for shadow RAM. Both

sections are 84KB in size. Refer to the table below for more informa-

tion.

A reserved 128K DRAM space is allocated for shadow RAM. You can

also use it for another purpose if these functions are disabled. Refer to

the Shadow RAM Control Port table on the next page for more

information.
