Remove the belt tension spring from the carriage motor frame. Remove the
0.092 inch (2.3 mm) E-type retaining ring on the carriage motor.
Then remove
the plain washer, belt pulley flange, belt pulley shaft holder, belt pulley, and
timing belt.

To remove the carriage motor, move it in the direction indicated by the arrow
in Figure 3-26.
Assembly Notes
Attach the E-rings as follows:

When you attach the ring to the left pulley shaft, install it so that its
opening faces left.
l
When you attach the ring to the right pulley shaft, install it so that its
opening faces right.
After you attach the E-rings, use tweezers to check that they are fixed in place
and do not move.
