Caution:
❏ Never use alcohol or paint thinner to clean the printer; these chemicals can
damage the components as well as the case.
❏ Do not let water get on the printer mechanism or electronic components.
❏ Do not use a hard or abrasive brush to clean the printer.
❏ Do not spray the inside of the printer with lubricants; unsuitable oils can
damage the mechanism. Contact your dealer or a qualified service person
if lubrication is needed. See "Where To Get Help" on page 229.
1. Make sure the printer is turned off and all the lights are off, and then unplug
the power cord. Let the printer sit for a minute.
c
Caution:
Do not touch the following parts; otherwise, printouts may be soiled.
2. Open the top cover and then use a soft, clean cloth to carefully remove any
dust or dirt inside the printer. Wipe the gray area shown below in the
direction of the arrows.
If there is a excessive dirt on the inside of the printer, clean it using a soft,
clean cloth dampened with mild detergent. Then, wipe the inside of the
printer dry with a dry, soft cloth.
