Reset SCSI Bus at IC Initialization: If the SCSI BIOS is enabled, it will reset the
SCSI bus when the computer is rebooted then scan for SCSI devices. This option
specifies whether the BIOS will wait 2 seconds after the reset of the bus before
scanning for SCSI devices.
The default is Enabled.
Enabled: Delay 2 seconds.
Disabled: No delay.
Extended BIOS Translation for DOS Drives > 1 GByte: To support disk drives
larger than 1GB, the SCSI BIOS can include an extended translation scheme. This
will allow support of disk drives as large as 8GB under DOS. With extended transla-
tion enabled, drives handled by the SCSI BIOS will use extended translation if their
formatted capacity is greater than 1GB, and drives smaller than 1GB will use stan-
dard translation. Note that all data on attached disk drives will be lost if the transla-
tion scheme is changed after installation. Use extended translation only with MS-
DOS, Windows 95/98, Windows NT (FAT), and OS/2. Do not enable this option if
using NetWare or Unix.
The default is Enabled.
Options: Enabled and Disabled.
Host Adapter BIOS: This option will enable or disable the SCSI BIOS. Note that
the SCSI BIOS must be enabled if you want the computer to boot from a SCSI drive.
Also many SCSI features require the SCSI BIOS to be enabled. The following
features will not function if the SCSI BIOS is disabled: Support Removable Disks
Under BIOS as Fixed Disks, Extended BIOS Translation for DOS Drives >1GB,
Display <Ctrl><A> message During BIOS Initialization, BIOS Support for
Bootable CD-ROM, and BIOS Support for Int13 Extension.
The default is Enabled.
Options: Enabled and Disabled.
Support Removable Disks Under BIOS as Fixed Disks: This option specifies
whether removable-media drivers are supported by the SCSI BIOS. If a removable-
media drive is handled by the BIOS, do not remove the media while the drive is on as
you might lose data.
The default is Boot Only.
Boot Only: Removable-media drives will be considered fixed hard drives
only during boot. After system is fully booted then the media may be re-
moved safely.
