Laminator Troubleshooting
If your system includes the optional laminator, also check for the following.
Problem Probable Cause Solution
Cards are bowed too
much following
lamination.
The Debow card option is
not selected.
Select the Debow card option in the Card
Printer Driver. Refer to the XPS Card Printer
Driver Users Guide.
Debow time is not set
correctly.
Change the card debow time. Refer to the
Printer Manager “Laminator” section of the
printers Installation and Administrators
Guide.
The temperature is too
high for the card stock
used.
Lower the laminator temperature for the
overlay material. Refer to the Printer
Manager “Laminate Type” section of the
printers Installation and Administrators
Guide.
The card stock doesn’t
work with the overlay.
Switch to a different card stock.
The patch comes off
when the card is flexed.
The temperature is too
low for the overlay
material.
Increase the laminator temperature for the
overlay material. Refer to the Printer
Manager “Laminate Type” section of the
printers Installation and Administrators
Guide.
A patch is stuck to the
heated roller.
Clean the laminator. Refer to “Clean the
Laminatoron page A-12. If the problem
continues to occur, contact your service
provider.
There are scratches or
particles under the patch.
The inside of the printer
is dirty.
Clean the printer. Refer to the “Printer
Cleaning Scheduleon page 46.
The supplies have debris
on them.
Store and handle supplies carefully. Keep
supplies in the original packaging until you
are ready to use them.
There are repeating
marks on the patch.
The heated roller is dirty. Clean the laminator. Refer to “Clean the
Laminatoron page A-12. If the problem
continues to occur, contact your service
provider.
