SNMP Community Names Configuration Screen

Field Descriptions
Refer to Table 4-4 for a functional description of each screen field. 
4.4.1 Establishing Community Names
The password used to access Local Management at the Password screen must have Super-User 
access in order to view and edit the SNMP Community Names Configuration screen. Using a 
password with read-only or read-write access does not allow the user to view or edit the SNMP 
Community Names Configuration screen.

Community Name

Enter the user-defined name used to access chassis management. Any 
community name assigned here acts as a password to Local 
Management.
Access Policy 
(Read-Only)
See the access given each community name. Possible selections are as 
follows:
read-only This community name allows read-only access to the 
6C105 MIB objects, and excludes access to 
security-protected fields of read-write or super-user 
authorization.
read-write  This community name allows read and write access to 
the 6C105 MIB objects, excluding security protected 
fields for super-user access only.
super-user  This community name permits read-write access to the 
6C105
 MIB objects and allows the user to change all 
modifiable parameters including community names, IP 
addresses, traps, and SNMP objects.
NOTE: Any community name assigned in the SNMP Community Names Configuration 
screen is a password to its corresponding level of access to Local Management. The 
community name assigned Super-User access is the only one that gives the user 
complete access to Local Management.
All passwords assigned in the chassis SNMP Community Names Configuration screen 
allow access to both the chassis Local Management screens, and the Local 
Management screens of the interface modules that are installed in the chassis. To 
configure the interface module to prevent access to the chassis Local Management 
screens, refer to Section 5.4.
