Setting the Port Type

ARoamAboutSwitchportcanbeoneofthefollowingtypes:

• NetworkPort:AnetworkportisaLayer2switchportthatconnectstheRoamAboutSwitchto

othernetworkingdevicessuchasswitchesandrouters.

• WiredAuthenticationPort:AwiredauthenticationportconnectstheRoamAboutSwitchto

userdevices,

suchasworkstations,thatmustbeauthenticatedtoaccessthenetwork.

AllRoamAboutSwitchportsarenetworkportsbydefault.Whenyouchangeporttype,MSS

appliesdefaultsettingsappropriateforthenewporttype.Table 4‐1liststhedefaultsettings
