IfyouareconfiguringaspecificDHCPVendorClass:
1. CreateanewVendorClasswithanameuniquetothatsystem.
2. AddthevendorID “adsensor(withoutquotes)totheASCIIportionofthe“vendorID”field.
3. Fromtheserveroptions,select“PredefinedOptions”forthisvendorclass.
4. Fromthelistofpredefined
optionspresented,choose043tobeaddedtothisvendorclass.
5. Inthenew“043VendorSpecificInfo”enterthenewbinarydatafromtheoutputofgenDHCP
intothe“Binary”areaofthedatafield.

Specifying the AirDefense Server
TospecifytheAirDefenseservertheconvertedAPsendsinformationto,dothefollowing:
1. OpenaWebbrowserandestablishasecure(https)connectiontotheconvertedAP.
2. UsingtheconvertedAP’sWebinterface,specifytheIPaddress,subnetmask,anddefault
gatewayoftheAirDefenseserver.
Afteryoudothis,the
convertedAPcandownloadasoftwareimagefromthespecifiedAirDefense
serverandoperateasanAirDefensesensor.
Converting an AirDefense Sensor Back to an AP
OnceanAPhasbeenconvertedtoanAirDefensesensor,youcanconverttheAPbacktoan
EnterasysMobilityPointbydoingthefollowing:
1. OpenaWebbrowserandestablishasecure(https)connectiontotheconvertedAP.
2. ClicktheReverttoAPbuttonintheconvertedAPsWebinterface.
When
youdothis,theAPrebootsandcomesupasanEnterasysMobilityPoint.
Note: The generated string is in Binary and must be typed into the binary field; this cannot be cut
and pasted into the ASCII field as the string will be treated as ASCII instead of binary.
Caution: At the time of this release, some versions of the Microsoft DHCP Server do not correctly
implement predefined options under vendor class.
