Zero-Configuration option
TheprevioussectiondescribedthescenarioformanualconfigurationoftheIPaddressofthe
primaryAirDefenseappliance usingtheSensorUI.Afterinitialconfiguration,youcanadminister
SensorsbyusingtheSensorprogramareaoftheAirDefenseEnterpriseGUI.
Alternatively,thenetworkadministratorcanusetheZero‐ConfigurationDHCPoption,
which
allowsyoutoissuevendoroptionsfromtheDHCPserver.OnLinuxDHCPserversthe043vendor
specificoptionwillusuallyhavetobeaddedintoaconfigurationfile,forMicrosoftDHCPservers
itischosenfromtheexistingDHCPoption“043VendorSpecificInfo”.Withoption043
configured,the
sensorswillbeabletoautomaticallyrequestAirDefenseprimaryserver
informationfromtheDHCPserver.Thisallowstheusertoaddasensortothenetworkwithno
pre‐configuration.

Run the Zero-Config Utility
ʺgendhcpprimary_address[secondary_address]ʺSecondaryIPaddressisoptionalifthe
secondaryoptionisleftblankbothprimaryandsecondaryserverwillbesetupthesame.
Example:
gendhcp.exe 192.168.100.2 192.168.100.3 will produce the string:
01:06:41:44:77:69:64:73:02:04:c0:a8:64:02:03:04:c0:a8:64:03:ff
