ARoamAboutSwitchcontainsnonvolatilestorage.MSSallowsyoutomanagethefilesin
nonvolatilestorage.Inaddition,youcancopyfilesbetweentheRASandaTFTPserveronthe
network.
About System Files
Generally,aRoamAboutSwitch’s nonvolatilestoragecontainsthefollowingtypesoffiles:
•Systemimagefiles—TheoperatingsystemsoftwarefortheRoamAbou tSwitchandits
attachedaccesspoints
• Configurationfiles— CLIcommandsthatconfiguretheRoamAboutSwitchanditsattached
accesspoints
•Systemlogfiles—FilescontaininglogentriesgeneratedbyMSS.
Whenyoupoweron
orresettheRoamAboutSwitchorrebootthesoftware,theswitchloadsa
designatedsystemimage,thenloadsconfigurationinformationfromadesignatedconfiguration
file.
ARAScanalsocontaintemporaryfileswithtraceinformationusedfortroubleshooting.
Temporaryfilesarenotstoredinnonvolatilememory,butarelistedwhen
youdisplayadirectory
ofthefilesontheswitch.
