Enabling Countermeasures
Countermeasuresaredisabledbydefault.Youcanenablethemonanindividualradioprofile
basis.Toenablecountermeasuresonaradioprofile,usethefollowingcommand:
set radio-profile name countermeasures {all | rogue}
Thealloptionenablesordisablescountermeasuresforroguesandforinterferingdevices.This
optionisequivalenttothescopeofroguedetectioninMSSVersion3.x.Therogueoptionenables
ordisablescountermeasuresforroguesonly.
Examples
Thefollowingcommandenablescountermeasuresinradioprofileradprof3forroguesonly:
RBT-8100# set radio-profile radprof3 countermeasures rogue
success: change accepted.
Todisablecountermeasuresonaradioprofile,usethefollowingcommand:
clear radio-profile name countermeasures

Disabling or Reenabling Active Scan
Whenactivescanningisenabled,theAPradiosmanagedbytheswitchlookforroguedevicesby
sendingprobeanyframes(probeswithanullSSIDname),tosolicitproberesponsesfromother
APs.
Activescanisenabledbydefault.Youcandisableorreenablethefeatureonanindividualradio
profilebasis.Todisableorreenableactivescanonaradioprofile,usethefollowingcommand:
set radio-profile name active-scan {enable | disable}
Example
Thefollowingcommanddisablesactivescaninradioprofileradprof3:
RBT-8100# set radio-profile radprof3 active-scan disable
success: change accepted.
Caution: Countermeasures affect wireless service on a radio. When an AP radio is sending
countermeasures, the radio is disabled for use by network traffic, until the radio finishes sending the
countermeasures.
