Setting the Bonded Authentication Period
ThefollowingcommandsetstheBondedAuth™(bondedauthentication)period,whichisthe
numberofsecondsMSSretainssessioninformationforanauthentica tedmachinewhilewaiting
forthe802.1Xclientonthemachinetostart(re)authenticationfortheuser.
Normally,theBondedAuthperiodneedstobesetonlyifthe
networkhasBondedAuthclients
thatusedynamicWEP,oruseWEP‐40orWEP‐104encryptionwithWPAorRSN.Theseclients
canbeaffectedbythe 802.1XreauthenticationparameterortheRADIUSSession‐Timeout
parameter.
TosettheBondedAuthperiod,usethefollowingcommand:
set dot1x bonded-period seconds
TheBondedAuthperiodappliesonlyto802.1Xauthentication rulestha tcontainthebonded
option.
ToresettheBondedAuthperiodtoitsdefaultvalue,usethefollowingcommand:
clear dot1x max-req

Bydefault,theRASwaits60 secondsbeforerespondingtoaclientwhoseauthenticati onfailed,
andtimesoutarequesttoaRADIUSserveroranauthenticationsessionwithaclientafter
30 seconds.Youcanmodify thesedefaults.
Setting the 802.1X Quiet Period
ThefollowingcommandconfiguresthenumberofsecondsaRASremainsquietanddoesnot
respondtoasupplicant(client)afterafailedauthentication:
set dot1x quiet-period seconds
Thedefaultis60 seconds.Theacceptablerangeisfrom0to65,535 seconds.
