VLAN Globs
AVLANglobisamethodformatchingoneofasetoflocalrulesonaRoamAboutSwitch,known
asthelocationpolicy,tooneormoreusers.MSScomparestheVLANglob,whichcanoptionally
containwildcardcharacters,againsttheVLAN‐NameattributereturnedbyAAA,todetermine
whether
toapplytherule.
TomatchallVLANs,usethedouble‐asterisk(**)wildcardcharacterswithnodelimiters.Tomatch
anynumberof charactersupto,butnotincl uding,adelimitercharacterintheglob,usethesingle‐
asterisk(*)wildcard.ValidVLANglobdelimitercharactersaretheat(@)sign
andtheperiod(.).
Forexample,theVLANglobbldg4.*matchesbldg4.securityandbldg4.hrandallotherVLANnames
withbldg4.atthebeginning.
Matching Order for Globs
Ingeneral,theorderinwhichyouenterAAAcommandsdeterminestheorderinwhichMSS
matchestheuser,MACaddress,orVLANtoaglob.Toverifytheorder,viewtheoutputofthe
showaaaorshowconfigcommand.MSSchecksglobsthatappearhigherinthelistbefore
items
lowerinthelistandusesthefirstsuccessfulmatch.
