Configuring Communication with RADIUS

RADIUS Overview
RemoteAuthenticationDial‐InUserService(RADIUS)isa distributedclient‐serversystem.
RADIUSserversprovidearepositoryforallusernamesandpasswords,andcanmanageand store
largegroupsofusers.
RADIUSserversstoreuserprofiles,whichincludeuserna mes,passwords,andotherAAA
attributes.Youcanuseauthorization attributesto
authorizeusersforatypeofservice,for
appropriateserversandnetworksegmentsthroughVLANassignments,forpacketfilteringby
accesscontrollists(ACLs),andforotherservicesduringasession.
YoumustincludeRADIUSserversinaservergroupbefore youcanaccessthem.
