Assigning SSID Default Attributes to a Service Profile
YoucanconfigureaserviceprofilewithasetofdefaultAAAauthorizationattributesthatare used
whenthenormalAAAprocessoralocationpolicydoe snotprovidethem.Theseauthorization
attributesareappliedbydefaulttousersaccessingtheSSIDmanagedbytheserviceprofile.
Usethefollowingcommand
toassignanauthorizationattributetoaserviceprofileandspecifyits
value:
set service-profile name attr attribute-name value
Bydefault,aserviceprofilecontainsnoSSIDdefaultauthorizationattributes.Whenspecified,
attributesinaserviceprofileareappliedinadditiontoanyattributessuppliedfortheuserbythe
RADIUSserverorthelocaldatabase.Whenthesameattributeiss p ecifiedbothasanSSIDdefault
attributeandthrough
AAA,thentheattributesuppliedby theRADIUSserverorthelocal
databasetakesprecedenceovertheSSIDdefaultattribute.Ifalocationpolicyisconfigured,the
locationpolicytakesprecedenceoverbothAAAandSSIDdefaultattributes.TheSSIDdefault
attributesserveasafallbackwhenneithertheAAA
process,noralocationpolicy,providesthem.
Forexample,aserviceprofilemightbeconfiguredwiththeservice‐typeattributesetto2.Ifauser
accessingtheSSIDisauthenticatedbyaRADIUSserver,andtheRADIUSserverreturnsthevlan‐
nameattributesettoorange,thenthatuser
willhaveatotaloftwoattributesset:service‐typeand
vlan‐name.
Iftheserviceprofileisconfiguredwiththevlan‐nameattributesettoblue,andtheRADIUSserver
returnsthevlan‐nameattributesettoorange,thentheattributefromtheRADIUSservertakes
precedence;theuser
isplacedintheorangeVLAN.
YoucandisplaytheattributesforeachconnecteduserandwhethertheyaresetthroughAAAor
throughSSIDdefaultsbyenteringtheshowsessionsnetworkverbosecommand.Youcan
displaytheconfiguredSSIDdefaultsbyenteringtheshowservice‐profilecommand.
