TheAccessPoint3000isconfiguredbydefaultasan“opensystem,”whichbroadcastsabeacon
signalincludingtheconfiguredSSID.WirelessclientscanreadtheSSIDfromthebeacon,and
automaticallyresettheirSSIDtoallowimmediateconnectiontothenearestaccesspoint.
Toimprovewirelessnetworksecurity,youhave
toimplementtwomainfunctions:
• Authentication:toverifythatclientsattemp tingtoconnecttothenetworkareauthorized
users.
•TrafficEncryption:toprotectdatapassingbetweentheaccesspointandclientsfrom
interceptionandeavesdropping.
