• VLANenablesordisablesVLANtaggingsupportonthisdefaultradiointerface.Ifenabled,
theaccesspointwilltagtrafficpassingfromwirelessclientstothewirednetworkwiththe
VLANIDassociatedwitheachclientontheRADIUSserver.Upto64VLANIDscanbe
mappedtospecific
wirelessclients,allowinguserstoremainwithinthesameVLANasthey
movearoundacampussite.Thisfeaturecanalsobeusedtocontrolaccesstonetwork
resourcesfromwirelessclients,therebyimprovingsecurity.Default:Disable
– Enable:WhenVLANfilteringisenabled,theaccesspointmustalsohave802.1x
authenticationenabledandaRADIUSserverconfigured.Wirelessclientsmustalso
support802.1xclientsoftwaretobeassignedtoaspecificVLAN.
– Disable:WhenVLANfilteringisdisabled,thisdefaultradiointerfaceignorestheVLAN
tagsonanyreceivedframes.
• RadioChannelspecifiesthechannelnumberfortheoperatingradio
channelintheaccesspoint.
–The802.11aradiochannelthattheaccesspointusestocommunicatewithwirelessclients.
Whenmultipleaccesspointsaredeployedinthesamearea,setthechannelon
neighboringaccesspointsatleastfourchannelsaparttoavoidinterferencewitheach
other.
–The802.11b/gradio
channelthattheaccesspointusestocommunicatewithwireless
clients.Whenmultipleaccesspointsaredeployedinthesamearea,setthechannelon
neighboringaccesspointsatleastfivechannelsaparttoavoidinterferencewitheach
other.Forexample,intheUnitedStatesyoucandeployuptothree
accesspointsinthe
samearea(e.g.,channels1,6,11).Alsonotethatthechannelforwirelessclientsis
automaticallysettothesameasthatusedbytheaccesspointtowhichitislinked.Range:
