Configuring SNTP
SimpleNetworkTimeProtocol(SNTP)allowstheAccessPoint3000tosetitsinternalclockbased
onperiodicupdatesfromatimeserver.Maintaininganaccuratetimeontheaccesspointenables
thesystemlogtorecordmeaningfuldatesandtimesforevententries.
TheAccessPoint3000actsasan
SNTPclient,periodicallysending timesynchronizationrequests
tospecifictimeservers.YoucanconfigureuptotwotimeserverIPaddresses.Theaccesspoint
willattempttopolleachserverintheconfiguredsequence.
SNTPServerconfigurestheaccesspointtooperateasanSNTPclient.Whenenabled,atleast
one
timeserverIPaddressmustbespecified.Whendisabled,youmanuallysetthedateand
timeofthesystemclock.
PrimaryServeristheIPaddressofanSNTPtimeserverthattheaccesspointattemptsto
pollforatimeupdate.Default:137.92.140.80
SecondaryServeristheIPaddress
ofasecondarySNTPtimeserver.Theaccesspointfirst
attemptstoupdatethetimefromtheprimaryserver;ifthisfailsitattemptsanupdate
fromthesecondaryserver.Default:192.43.244.18
SetTime(SNTPServerdisabled)allowsyoutomanuallysetthecurrentdateandtimefor
thelocationof
thisaccesspoint.
SetTimeZone.SNTPusesCoordinatedUniversalTime(orUTC,formerlyGreenwichMean
Time,orGMT)basedonthetimeattheEarth’sprimemeridian,zerodegreeslongitude.
EnterTimeZonesetsatimecorrespondingtoyourlocaltime.Youmustindicatethe
numberofhoursyour
timezoneislocatedbefore(East)orafter(West)UTC.
EnableDaylightSavingprovidesawaytoautomaticallyadjustthesystemclockfor
DaylightSavingsTimechanges.Tousethisfeatureyoumustdefinethemonthanddateto
beginandtoendthechangefromstandardtime.Duringthis
periodthesystemclockisset
backbyonehour.
Note: If SNTP is disabled, you can manually set the date and time of the system clock.
