Syntax
dtim-period <interval>
intervalistheintervalbetweenthebeaconframesthattransmitbroadcastormulticasttraffic.

TheDeliveryTrafficIndicationMap(DTIM)packetintervalvalueindicateshowoftenthe
MAClayerforwardsbroadcast/multicasttraffic.Thisparameterisnecessarytowakeup
stationsthatareusingPowerSavemode.
TheDTIMisthe intervalbetweentwosynchronousframeswithbroadcast/multicast
information.Thedefaultvalueof2
indicatesthattheaccesspointwillsaveallbroadcast/
multicastframesfortheBasicServiceSet(BSS)andforwardthemaftereverysecond
beacon.
UsingsmallerDTIMintervalsdeliversbroadcast/multica stframesinamoretimelymanner,
causingstationsinPowerSavemodetowakeupmoreoftenanddrainpowerfaster.
Using
higherDTIMvaluesreducesthepowerusedbystationsinPowerSavemode,butdelaysthe
transmissionofbroadcast/multicastframes.
