•channel‐Manuallysetstheradiochannelusedforcommunicationswithwirelessclients.
Range(forUnitedStates;thisrangediffersinothercountries):802.11a‐36, 40,44,48,52,56,
60,64,149,153,157,161,165fornormalmode,and42,50,58,152,160forturbomode;
802.11g‐1to

•auto‐Automaticallyselectsanunoccupiedchannel(ifavailable).Otherwise,thelowest
channelisselected.

Command Usage
•Theavailablechannelsettingsarelimitedbylocalregulations,whichdeterminethenumber
ofchannelsthatareavailable.
•Whenmultipleaccesspointsaredeployedinthesamearea,besuretochooseachannel
separatedbyatleastfourchannelsfor802.11atoavoidhavingthechannelsinterferewith
eachother,andatleastfivechannelsfor802.11b/g.
•Formostwirelessadapters,thechannelforwirelessclientsisautomaticallysettothesame
asthatusedbytheaccesspointtowhichitislinked.
