RBT3K‐AG‐G),oranIEEE802.11b/gonly(RBT3K‐1G),accesspointthatprovidestransparent,

wirelesshigh‐speeddatacommunicationsbetweenthewiredLANandfixed,portableormobile

devicesequippedwithan802.11a,802.11bor802.11g

wirelessadapter.

Thissolutionoffersfast,reliablewirelessconnectivitywithconsiderablecostsavingsoverwired

LANs(whichincludelong‐termmaintenanceoverheadforcabling).Using802.11a,802.11b,and

802.11gtechnology,thisaccesspointcaneasilyreplacea10 MbpsEthernetconnectionorseamless

integrationintoa10/100MbpsEthernetLAN.

Inaddition,

theaccesspointoffersfullnetworkmanagementcapabilitiesthroughaneasyto

configureWebinterface,andacommandlineinterfaceforinitialconfigurationand

troubleshooting.

TheIEEE802.11a/gstandardusesaradiomodulationtechniqueknownasOrthogonalFrequency

DivisionMultiplexing(OFDM),andasharedcollisiondomain(CSMA/CA).Itoperatesatthe



5GHzUnlicensedNationalInformationInfrastructure(UNII)bandforconnectionsto802.11a

clients,andat2.4GHzforconnectionsto802.11gclients.

IEEE802.11gincludesbackwardcompatibilitywiththeIEEE802.11bstandard.IEEE802.11balso

operatesat2.4GHz,butusesDirectSequenceSpreadSpectrum(DSSS)modulationtechnologyto

achieveacommunication

rateofupto11Mbps.

Theaccesspointalsosupportsa54Mbpshalf‐duplexconnectiontoEthernetnetworksforeach

activechannel(upto108Mbpsinturbomodeonthe802.11ainterface).
