Using Web Management to Configure SNTP
SimpleNetworkTimeProtocol(SNTP)allowstheRBT41 02tosetitsinternalclockbasedon
periodicupdatesfromatimeserver.Maintaininganaccuratetimeontheaccesspointenablesthe
systemlogtorecordmeaningfuldatesandtimesforevententries.
TheRBT4102actsasanSNTPclient,
periodicallysendingtimesynchronizationrequeststo
specifictimeservers.YoucanconfigureuptotwotimeserverIPaddresses.Theaccesspointwill
attempttopolleachserverintheconfiguredsequence.
ToconfigureSNTP,selectSystemLogfromthemenu,andscrolldowntoSNTPServer.
SNTPServerconfiguresthe
accesspointtooperateasanSNTPclient.Whenenabled,atleast
onetimeserverIPaddressmustbespecified.Whendisabled,youmanuallysetthedateand
timeofthesystemclock.
PrimaryServeristheIPaddressofanSNTPtimeserverthattheaccesspointattemptsto
poll
foratimeupdate.Default:137.92.140.80
SecondaryServeristheIPaddressofasecondarySNTPtimeserver.Theaccesspointfirst
attemptstoupdatethetimefromtheprimaryserver;ifthisfailsitattemptsanupdate
fromthesecondaryserver.Default:192.43.244.18
SetTime(SNTPServerdisabled)allows
youtomanuallysetthecurrentdateandtimefor
thelocationofthisaccesspoint.
SetTimeZone.SNTPusesCoordinatedUniversalTime(orUTC,formerlyGreenwichMean
Time,orGMT)basedonthetimeattheEarth’sprimem eridian,zerodegreeslongitude.
EnterTimeZonesetsatime
correspondingtoyourlocaltime.Youmustindicatethe
numberofhoursyourtime zoneislocatedbefore(East)orafter(West)UTC.
EnableDaylightSavingprovidesawaytoautomaticallyadjustthesystemclockfor
DaylightSavingsTimechanges.Tousethisfeatureyoumustdefinethemonthanddate
to
beginandtoendthechangefromstandardtime.Duringthisperiod thesys temclockisset
backbyonehour.
Note: If SNTP is disabled, you can manually set the date and time of the system clock.
