AsshowninFig ure 3,eachLLDPDUframecontainsthefollowingmandatory TLVs:
•ChassisIDThechassisidentificationforthedevicethattransmittedtheLLDPpacket.
•PortIDTheidentificationofthespecificportthattransmittedtheLLDPpacket.The
receivingLLDPagentjoinsthechassisIDandtheport
IDtocorrespondtotheentity
connectedtotheportwherethepacketwasreceived.
•TimetoLiveThelengthoftimethatinformationcontainedinthereceiveLLDPpacketwill
bevalid.
•EndofLLDPDUIndicatesthefinalTLVoftheLLDPDUframe.

•PortDescriptionTheportfromwhichtheLLDPagenttransmittedtheframe.
•SystemNameThesystem’sadministrativelyassignedname.
•SystemDescriptionIncludesthesystem’sname,hardwareversion,OSlevel,and
networkingsoftwareversion.
•SystemCapabilitiesAbitmapthatdefinestheprimaryfunctionsofthe
system.The
currentlydefinedcapabilitiesinclude,amongotherthings,WLANaccesspoint,router,and
telephone.
ManagementAddressTheIPorMACaddressassociatedwiththelocalLLDPagentthat
maybeusedtoreachhigherlayerentities.
