LACPusesasystempriorityvaluetobuildaLAGID,whichdeterminesaggregationprecedence.
Iftherearetwopartnerdevicescompetingforthesameaggregator,LACPcomparestheLAGIDs
foreach
groupingofports.TheLAGwiththelowerLAGIDisgivenprecedenceandwillbe
allowedtousetheaggregator.
Thereareafewcasesinwhichportswillnotaggregate:
•Anunderlyingphysicalportisattachedtoanotherportonthissameswitch(loopback).
•Thereisnoavailableaggregatorfor
twoormoreportswiththesameLAGID.Thiscan
happeniftherearesimplynoavailableaggregators,orifnoneoftheaggregatorshavea
matchingadminkeyandsystempriority.
802.1xauthenti cationisenabled,andportsthatwouldotherwiseaggregateare not80 2.1X
authorized.
TheLACPimplementationon
theMatrixSeriesdevicewillallowintoaLAG.Thedevicewiththe
lowestLAGIDdetermineswhichunderlyingphysicalportsareallowedintoaLAGbasedonthe
ports’LAGportpriority.PortswiththelowestLAGportpriorityvaluesareallowedintotheLAG
andallotherspeedgroup ings
gointoastandbystate.
Purpose
TodisableandreenabletheLinkAggregationControlProtocol(LACP),todisplayandconfigure
LACPsettingsforoneormoreaggregatorports,andtodisplayandconfiguretheLACPsettings
forunderlyingphysicalportsthatarepotentialmembersofalinkaggregation.
Commands
Note: Only one LACP system priority can be set on a Matrix Series device, using either the set lacp
asyspri command (“set lacp asyspri” on page 4-61), or the set port lacp command (“set port lacp
on page 4-67).
Note: To aggregate, underlying physical ports must be running in full duplex mode and must be of
the same operating speed.
