The7G4280‐19has18,1000BASE‐Xcompliantfront‐panelportsthatsupportavarietyof
optionalSmallFormFactorPluggable(SFP)GigabitconnectionsusingoptionalMini‐
GigabitInterfaceCards(MGBICs).Thereisalsoaslotforan optionalEthernetinterface
module7G‐6MGBICor7G‐6MGBIC‐A.
The7G4280‐19
canbeinstalledinaMatrix E7, N7,N5,N3orN1chassis,butonly
supportsFTM2databackplaneinterconnectionsinthe Matrix E7chassis.Trafficflow
fromFTM2toFTM1canonlybeaccomplishedwitha7H4382‐25,7H4382‐49,7H4383‐49,
or7H4385‐49DFE module.
Eachofthefrontpanelports
canoperateineitherhalf‐duplexorfull‐duplexmodeof
operation.Theduplexmodecanbedeterminedbyeitherauto‐negotiationormanual
configuration.
TheDFE moduleportscanbeconfiguredtoprovideahigh levelofsecurity,controltraffic
bylimitingtherateoftrafficacceptedintothemodule
andprioritizingtraffictoexpedite
theflowofhigherprioritytrafficthroughthe module.Foracompletelistofcapabilities

TheDFE modulereceivespowerandbackplaneconnectivitywhenitisinsertedintoa
Matrix E7,N7,N5,N3orN1chassis.
