ToinstalltheN‐POE PSMs,proceedasfollows:
1. RefertoFigure 3‐5.UnscrewthetwoPhillips‐headcaptive‐coverscrewstoreleasethe
baycoverfromthechassisbaywhereyouplantoinstallanN‐POE PSM.(Inthi s
procedure,theleftbayisusedasanexample.)Removethebay
coverandsetitaside
fornow.

2. RefertoFigure 3‐6.AligntheN‐POE PSMwithPOE1slotinsidebay1,thenslidethe
N‐POE PSMforwarduntiltheN‐POE PSMispluggedintothechassisconnectorand
completelyinsidethebay.Ifsignificantresistanceisencounteredbeforethe
N‐POE PSMreachestheendofitstravel,removeandreinsertthepowe rsupply.
3. FastentheN‐POE PSMtotheN5chassisusingthecaptivePhillips‐headscrewonthe
N‐POE PSMfrontpanel.
4. Repeatsteps2through3foreachadditionalN‐POE PSM.
Note: To reduce Electromagnetic Interference from the Enterasys Matrix N5 Chassis,
ensure that both bay covers are installed during operation.
Caution: In the following step, do not force the power supply into place. You could
damage the power supply and/or the chassis connector.
