N‐POE‐1200WDCpowersupplies.EachACoutletmusthaveareliableground
connectionandbeonanindependently‐fusedcircuit,whichcansupplythecurrent
andvoltagespecifiedin“MatrixN5Chassis”onpage A‐2and“7C205‐1System
PowerSupplyModule”onpage A‐3.Theoutlets
neededaspereachmodelpower
supplyare:
–TwogroundedACpoweroutlets,oneforeachofthetwo7C205‐1ACpower
suppliesinstalledinthe7C105‐Pchassis.
–FourgroundedACpoweroutlets,oneforeachofthefouroptionalN‐POE‐1200W
DCpowersuppliesinstalledinthe
chassis.ThesepowersuppliesreceivetheirAC
powerfromthechassisthroughtheACINLET1through4chassisconnectors.
Thepowercordsusedandtypeofoutletsisdependentonthecountry.IntheUnited
States,onepowercordwithNEMA5‐20Pplugsisprovidedwitheach7C205‐1
and
N‐POE PSM.
•Ambienttemperatureattheinstallationsitemustbemaintainedbetween5°and 40°C
(41° to 104°F).Temperaturechangesmustbemaintainedwithin10°C(18°F)perhour.
Configuration Guidelines
TheN5chassishasfiveslotsthatcanacceptbothstandardandPoE‐compliantDFE
modules.Theslotsarenumbered1to5beginningwiththebottom‐mostslot.Thereare
twopowersystemsinthebottomhalfofthe 7C105‐Pchassis,oneforsystemoperation
andonetoprovide
powertoPoE‐compliantDFEmodulesinstalledinthechassis.
ThetwobayslabeledPS1andPS2areforthe7C205‐1systempowersupplies.One
7C205‐1isshippedwiththechassis.Asanoption,asecondonecanbeinstalledtoprovide
powerredundancyforthechassisand
installedDFEmodules.
ThetwocoveredbaysatthebottomfrontofthechassisareforthePoEpowersystem.This
PoEpowersystemisindependentfromthechassispowersystem.
ThePoEpowersystemcanconsistofuptofouroptionalN‐POE‐1200W powersupply
modulestoprovidepowerrequirements
forPoE‐compliantDFEmodulesinstalledinthe 
chassisandthepowerrequiredtosupportPoweredDevicesconnectedtothoseDFE
modules.
TheDFEmodulesforthe7C105‐Pchassisareequippedwithafirmwa re‐based
managementtool,whichprovidesthecapabilitytoconfigureoneormoreDFEmodules;
andenables
accesstothechassis,powersupply,andfanassemblystatusinformation.
