TheEnterasys Matrix N5chassisprovidesfiveslotsforanewadvancedgenerationof
Ethernetswitchmodules,theEnterasysMatrixDFEseriesmodules.DFEmodules
installedinthe7C105Pchassis
operateasasystemwithasingleIPaddress.Themodular
designofthechassisenablesyoutoinstallthesystemandPoEpowersupplies,and
modulesfromthefrontofthechassisforeaseofmaintenance.
TheN5chassis
•usesadistributedswitchingarchitecture,
•allowshotswappingoftheDFEmodules,
supportsredundantchassissystempowersupplies,
supportsuptofourAC/DC48Volt300WattpowersupplymodulesforPoE
operation,
•canbeinstalledasafreestandingunitorinstalledintoastandard
48.26centimeter(19inch)rack(threechassiscanfitintoastandard7footrack),
meetsprotectiveearth
groundingrequirementsoftheNationalElectricalCode(NEC)
