Installation Site Requirement
TheDFE modulesmustbeinstalledinaMatrixE7,N3,N5,orN7chassislocatedina
RestrictedAccessLocation(RAL).Thislocationshouldonlybeaccessiblebypeoplethat
havebeentrainedoraretechnicallycompetentenoughtobeawareofpotentialrisksof
accessingthehazardousareasofthe
chassis.Locationssuchasalockedwiringclosetor
lockedcabinetmeetthisrequirement.
Required Tools
APhillipsscrewdriverisrequiredtoinstallanoptionalnetworkexpan sionmoduleinto
the7G4285‐49.
Unpacking the DFE Module
UnpacktheDFE moduleasfollows:
1. OpentheboxandremovethepackingmaterialprotectingtheDFE module.
2. VerifythecontentsofthecartonaslistedinTable 3‐1.
3. Removethetapesealonthenon‐conductivebagtoremovethemodule.
4. Performavisualinspectionofthemoduleforanysignsofphysical
damage.Contact

Warning: Install this module in a Matrix E7, N3, N5, or N7 chassis that has been installed
in a Restricted Access Location only. Access to the equipment by users must be restricted
through the use of a tool or lock and key or other means of security and is controlled by
the authority responsible for the location.
