Considerations About Using Clear Config in a Stack
When using the clear config command (as described in Section 2.1.19.2) to clear configuration parameters
in a stack, it is important to remember the following:
Use clear config to clear config parameters without clearing stack unit IDs. This command WILL NOT
clear stack parameters and avoids the process of re-numbering the stack.
Use clear config all when it is necessary to clear all config parameters, including stack unit IDs and
switch priority values.
Configuration parameters and stacking information can also be cleared on the master unit only by
selecting option 10 (restore configuration to factory defaults) from the boot menu on device startup. This
selection will leave stacking priorities on all other units.
