2.1.6 Starting and Navigating the Command Line Interface
2.1.6.1 Using a Console Port Connection
Once you have connected a terminal to the local console port as described in your SecureStack B2
Installation Guide, the startup screen, Figure 2-2, will display. You can now start the Command
Line Interface (CLI) by
• using a default user account, as described in Section 2.1.6.2, or
• using an administratively-assigned user account as described in Section 2.1.6.3.
2.1.6.2 Logging in with a Default User Account
If this is the first time your are logging in to the SecureStack B2 device, or if the default user
accounts have not been administratively changed, proceed as follows:
1. At the login prompt, enter one of the following default user names:
• ro for Read-Only access,
• rw for Read-Write access.
• admin for Super User access.
2. Press ENTER. The Password prompt displays.
3. Leave this string blank and press ENTER. The device information and prompt displays as shown
in Figure 2-2.
NOTE: By default, the SecureStack B2 device is configured with three user login accounts: ro
for Read-Only access; rw for Read-Write access; and admin for super-user access to all
modifiable parameters. The default password is set to a blank string. For information on
changing these default settings, refer to Section 2.1.11.
