SecureStack B2 Configuration Guide 4-5
4.2 PROCESS OVERVIEW: SNMP CONFIGURATION
Use the following steps as a guide to configuring SNMP on the device:
1. Reviewing SNMP statistics (Section 4.3.1)
2. Configuring SNMP users, groups and communities (Section 4.3.2)
3. Configuring SNMP access rights (Section 4.3.3)
4. Configuring SNMP MIB views (Section 4.3.4)
5. Configuring SNMP target parameters (Section 4.3.5)
6. Configuring SNMP target addresses (Section 4.3.6)
7. Configuring SNMP notification parameters (Section 4.3.7)
8. Creating a basic SNMP trap notification (Section 4.3.8)
NOTE: Commands for configuring SNMP on the SecureStack B2 device are
independent during the SNMP setup process. For instance, target parameters can be
specified when setting up optional notification filters — even though these parameters
have not yet been created with the set snmp targetparams command. The following
steps are a guideline to configuring SNMP and do not necessarily need to be executed
in this order.
